November is a special time to thank the Lord for all of our blessings. And whether it feels like it or not right now, our marriages are one of the greatest blessings that God has given to us. As with any blessing, we should be thankful for our marriages all year long, but having that special reminder at Thanksgiving each November makes for a sweet end to this month.
The past few years (2011, 2012) I have given you a month long challenge to pray for your spouse. I hoped that it would be a daily reminder to thank the Lord for what He has given to you in a life partner and to pray for them daily as an act of thanksgiving. It was my full intention to give you this month long challenge once again this year, but as you may have picked up on in my last post, things have been a tad busy around here and sadly a whole month a challenges was just not possible.
But fear not! I may not have been able to make a months worth, but I do have a two week challenge for you that will be perfect preperation for the upcoming holiday. Think of this as a half challenge… kind of like a half marathon. Not as difficult… right? Who am I fooling, I can’t run around the block. But I probably shouldn’t compare this to running, which I dislike so much. Prayer is something that is awesome and does not have to be difficult! ANYWAY, below I have posted a printable and downloadable guide to praying for your spouse for the remainder of this month. And it starts… Today!!
I changed it up a bit this year. Rather than having separate print outs for the husband and the wife, I have made it where you can pray together for your marriage. I have also made it so there is not only a prayer, but a thanks to God for who He is and what He has done. I hope this helps you and your husband/wife to get into the spirit of Thanksgiving and to join you together as you pray for one another and thank the Lord for the marriage He has given you.
I can’t wait to hear how He uses this in your marriage!
